Veronica Emilia Nuzzolo, Ph.D., is a licensed psychotherapist, clinical evaluator, and behavioral health specialist with advanced expertise in substance use disorders, co‑occurring mental health conditions, trauma‑responsive treatment, and forensic assessment. She is the Founder, Owner, and Clinical Director of Empower Community Health, the parent organization for ECH Counseling & Wellness Services of Boston and Substance Use Evaluation Services of Boston. Her work integrates diagnostic precision, trauma‑informed methodology, and multidisciplinary data to support accurate evaluation, effective treatment planning, and sustainable recovery outcomes across diverse clinical and forensic settings.

Dr. Nuzzolo holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology supported by graduate training in counseling psychology, behavioral psychology, education, and health care management. Her academic and clinical background includes extensive study of addiction psychology, the neuroscience of compulsive behavior, and the assessment and treatment of complex psychiatric and substance‑related disorders. She has provided direct care across the full continuum of behavioral health services, including correctional mental health, inpatient detoxification, outpatient stabilization, medication‑assisted treatment, and intensive substance use and mental health programming.

As a clinical evaluator, Dr. Nuzzolo specializes in RMV‑compliant Substance Use Evaluations, Out‑of‑State RMV Evaluations, court‑ordered and attorney‑referred assessments, diagnostic impressions, and recidivism‑risk analyses. Her reports are known for their clarity, objectivity, and legal defensibility, and are accepted across reciprocal‑agreement states. Her forensic work is grounded in evidence‑based methodology, ethical transparency, and a commitment to producing accurate, unbiased assessments that support informed decision‑making within legal and administrative systems.
